Wakatipu Heights
Perched above Lake Wakatipu with uninterrupted views of the Remarkables, this architectural build by Figure and Ground made for a striking subject. Commissioned by the property’s luxury management company, this shoot focused on capturing the refined design and elevated setting through a mix of daytime and twilight photography.
With natural textures, rich tones, and thoughtful details throughout, the interior offered plenty to work with. Large-format windows frame the alpine views from every angle, while the stonework and timber finishes tie the home beautifully into its environment. As the light shifted, the space revealed new moods - warm and vibrant by day, cosy and atmospheric into the evening.
The brief was to create a suite of high-quality images for marketing and guest bookings - highlighting not only the scale and layout of the home, but also the lifestyle on offer. Special attention was paid to key moments like the outdoor fireplace area, expansive balconies, and relaxed living zones that take full advantage of the setting.
Twilight conditions were perfect on the day of shooting, allowing for balanced interior and exterior exposures that showcase the glow of the home against the softening evening sky. The final imagery strikes a balance between architectural precision and inviting mood - designed to elevate the property’s online presence while doing justice to its design and outlook.
