I was commissioned by Retail Dimension to photograph this Z Energy station in Silverdale, Auckland. The brief was straightforward: deliver a fast-turnaround, high-quality set of images showcasing both the interior and exterior of the site.

This was a quick, efficient one-hour shoot — carefully timed to capture clean exterior shots with minimal traffic, as well as bright, well-lit interiors while the space remained active. The goal was to document the refreshed fit-out in detail, highlighting the updated signage, layout, and brand presentation across both the forecourt and the convenience store.

For a shoot like this, timing and precision are everything. The exterior required waiting for just the right gaps in vehicle movement, while the interior involved working around staff and customers without disrupting operations. Good light was essential to keep colours true to the brand palette and to ensure the store’s fresh, modern look translated well on camera.

Although the subject matter might seem routine at first glance, projects like this are all about capturing clean compositions and strong brand consistency. Deliverables from this session were used by the client for internal documentation, design reference, and promotional purposes.

It’s always rewarding to be trusted with fast-paced shoots like this, where attention to detail and efficiency go hand in hand. In just an hour on site, we were able to create a polished, versatile image set that met both the creative and practical needs of the project.
