Kate and Jodi from Curated got in touch for a relaxed half-day shoot to capture one of their latest interior design projects here in Wānaka. Affectionately dubbed The Whiskey House – a name we came up with mid-shoot – this moody, textural home is a careful balance of rich tones, layered materials, and quiet sophistication.

The brief was to create a collection of still and video content that showcased the design across key living spaces – from the open-plan kitchen and lounge to the bedrooms and bathrooms. Every detail had been considered, and we focused on highlighting the lighting, material palette, and spatial flow in a way that felt natural and immersive.

We took a storytelling-led approach, keeping the imagery clean and unfussy. No heavy staging – just light, space, and the materials doing their thing. The goal was to document not just the craftsmanship, but the feeling of being in the home – warm, welcoming, and a little bit indulgent.

Across both stills and video, the final content is being used by Curated to showcase their work online and across social media – capturing the distinct mood and design sensibility of this thoughtfully curated space.

Always a pleasure collaborating with designers who value storytelling and restraint – and homes like this make it easy to find the beauty in the details.
