Commissioned by ArchiPro as part of their monthly project feature series, this shoot focused on the beautifully crafted Oneroa House by Strachan Group Architects. Located on Waiheke Island, the home is a striking example of the practice’s warmth and material sensitivity – a seamless blend of concrete, timber, and glass with expansive views over the surrounding vineyards and coastline.
The shoot spanned a full day and included photography, aerials, and a sit-down video interview with architect Dave Strachan, all produced for ArchiPro’s marketing channels. The aim was to capture not only the architecture but also the lived-in atmosphere and detailing that defines the project – from the sculptural concrete forms to the carefully curated interiors.
With its generous light, robust materials and passive design approach, the house is both grounded and open, offering a unique take on contemporary island living. It was a privilege to help document a home so thoughtfully realised – and to collaborate with a practice whose work I’ve long admired.
