King Facade International

I was on site for a quick 1-hour shoot to document progress on a facade installation for King Facade International in Auckland’s Sale Street. The building was in the final stages of construction, with the finishing touches going in both inside and out. Even in that short window of time, there was plenty to capture - from the bold, contemporary exterior to the crisp, high-contrast interior spaces.

The facade itself is a striking feature of the street, with strong vertical lines and reflective panels that shift and change with the light. Inside, the architecture continues the theme, with clean detailing, dark finishes, and open atrium spaces that create dramatic perspectives.

One of my favourite moments from the shoot was stepping into the atrium and looking straight up through the tiers to the ceiling. The repeating lines and play of light and shadow made for a captivating image - one that later went on to win a Bronze Award at the NZIPP Iris Awards. It’s always rewarding when a photograph taken under tight time constraints finds recognition in that way.

This project was a reminder that even a short assignment can yield standout images when the design is strong and the light is right. It was a pleasure to help King Facade International document this stage of their work, creating a visual record that celebrates both the craftsmanship and the architectural vision behind the build.
