Photography Art Prints
I offer a curated selection of fine art, landscape, and architectural photography prints from around New Zealand - including award-winning images from the NZIPP Iris Awards, my Viewfinder series, and limited edition works from the Retrospection and Duality collections.
Whether you're drawn to bold architecture or sweeping natural landscapes (or both), these prints are designed to bring a sense of depth and stillness to your space. And yes - I may be slightly biased, but they look pretty great in a living room.
Bestselling Prints
These are some of my most popular prints - favourites among collectors, interior designers, and anyone who loves clean compositions and thoughtful landscapes. They've made their way into homes and spaces around New Zealand (and a few further afield).
Glendhu Beach, 1933 is the most popular print from the Viewfinder series - a fine art photography collection by Wānaka-based photographer Sampford Cathie.
This piece blends a historic image of Glendhu Bay - originally published in the Auckland Weekly News in 1933 - with a present-day photograph taken from the same location. Nestled just outside of Wānaka, Glendhu Beach is known for its sweeping views across Lake Wānaka and the surrounding mountains.
The image captures a quiet lakeside moment frozen in time, juxtaposed with its modern-day shoreline - offering a nostalgic and contemplative look at how Otago’s landscapes have evolved.

About Glendhu Bay
Glendhu Bay is located on the western edge of Lake Wānaka in New Zealand’s South Island. Just a short drive from Wānaka township, it’s a popular spot for walking, camping, and taking in the views across to the Buchanan Peaks and Mt Aspiring National Park. This print blends a 1933 archival photograph with a modern-day image captured from the same shoreline, offering a quiet reflection on the passage of time in this well-loved location.
About Viewfinder
Viewfinder is a collection of fine art photography prints by Wānaka Photographer Sampford Cathie capturing the history of New Zealand’s Otago region, meticulously blending heritage photographs from 1890 to 1930 with their modern-day locations.
About the Photographer
Sampford Cathie is a Wānaka-based photographer with a focus on landscape, abstract, and fine art photography. His work captures the striking natural and built environments of Otago and beyond, drawing on his experience in commercial photography to create images with a strong sense of atmosphere, minimalism, and precision. Each print reflects his ongoing interest in composition, light, and the quiet character of place.

Sentinel is my best-selling print, featuring the iconic Bean Rock Lighthouse in Auckland’s harbour. Captured in 2014, this image isolates one of New Zealand’s oldest surviving wooden lighthouses in soft, minimal tones - a quiet structure standing alone in the Hauraki Gulf.
Built in 1871, Bean Rock is a well-known landmark for generations of Aucklanders. I was drawn to its shape, symmetry, and the feeling of stillness it holds out there on the water. This print is one of my earliest fine art works and continues to resonate with people today - both as a local icon and a study in quiet, deliberate composition.

Zazen is a Japanese term meaning ‘Seated Meditation’; one of the core practices of Zen-Buddist tradition.
This tranquil image features the D.T. Suzuki Museum, based in Kanazawa, Japan. Best printed large, this image is as peaceful and serene as Kanazawa on a cold Winter’s afternoon.
A variant of this image was the winner of a Silver with Distinction in the 2019 NZIPP Iris Awards.

Part of the limited-edition Duality series, Duality VII was created in collaboration with photographer Anneke Lisa and exhibited in Wānaka in 2022. The image pairs two separate photographs taken in Otago to explore shifts in light, tone, and atmosphere across the landscape.
The Duality series is built on the idea of visual dialogue - blending different moments, seasons, and perspectives into a single, balanced composition. This piece places particular emphasis on contrast and symmetry, with each half reflecting subtle variations in colour and terrain while maintaining a shared sense of stillness.
Printed using archival inks on premium luster photo paper, this limited edition is ideal for collectors or anyone drawn to abstract and contemplative landscapes.
